TINA TURNER'S HUSBAND DONATED A KIDNEY TO SAVE HER LIFE — A TRUE LOVE STORY ❤️????
"He said he didn't want another woman, or another life." — Tina Turner
Tina Turner's husband, Erwin Bach, donated his kidney to save her life in 2017. It was the ultimate act of love from a man who gave her everything.
A LOVE STORY THAT BEGAN AT FIRST SIGHT
Tina Turner met Erwin Bach in 1985 at Düsseldorf Airport. He was a music executive sent to greet her. She wrote in her memoir: "My heart suddenly started to beat BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, drowning out all other sounds. My hands were ice-cold".
He was 16 years her junior. She made the first move. They were together for 27 years before marrying in 2013. #TinaTurner #ErwinBach #TrueLove #LoveStory #KidneyDonation #OrganDonor #SimplyTheBest #QueenOfRockAndRoll #WhatsLoveGotToDoWithIt #ProudMary #MusicLegend #BlackExcellence #LoveWins #Sacrifice #SecondChances #Happy #TheBest #IconicLove #Switzerland #EMI #RockAndRoll #CelebrityNews #EntertainmentNews #PopCulture #ViralStory
A HEALTH CRISIS THAT BROUGHT THEM CLOSER
In 2016, Turner suffered a stroke and was diagnosed with intestinal cancer. By December, her kidneys were at 20% and "plunging rapidly".
At 77, she was unlikely to receive an organ donation. She considered assisted suicide. "I couldn't eat. I was surviving but not living. I began to think about death," she wrote.
THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE
Bach stepped forward. "He said he didn't want another woman, or another life," Turner recalled. "Then he shocked me. He said he wanted to give me one of his kidneys".
She wrote: "I was lucky that Erwin offered to donate one of his kidneys to me".
THE TRANSPLANT
The transplant went ahead in April 2017. It was successful. Turner described the moment they reunited: "The best moment was when Erwin came rolling into my room in his wheelchair".
A LOVE THAT LASTED
Turner died on May 24, 2023, at age 83. The kidney transplant kept her alive for six more years.
Tina Turner once said: "I'm happy to say that, thanks to my beloved husband, Erwin, giving me one of his kidneys, the gift of life, I'm in good health and loving life every day".
What's love got to do with it? Everything. Because of Erwin Bach, Tina Turner lived to be simply the best. ❤️
