Flightless Gregoria has developed a very unusual way to enjoy the aviary shower… by lying down under the water.

On the left, big floofy English budgie Skylar Grey looks on, while blue Tina Turner watches from the right — both appearing slightly amazed by Gregoria’s very relaxed bathing style.

At one point Ozzy even seems to try copying Gregoria’s lying-down shower technique.

Despite being unable to fly, Gregoria moves confidently around the aviary — climbing, hopping and exploring everywhere.

The flock also loves to splash and roll around in the budgie-safe bamboo leaves placed around the shower.

Filmed naturally in our outdoor aviary in Melbourne, Australia, where most of our budgies are rescues living together as a flock.

Budgies (called parakeets in the US and Wellensittiche in Germany) love bathing in running water, especially during moulting when it helps relieve itchy pin feathers.
