After ~40 years Checkpoint Charlies was abruptly closed last week with no notice, leaving its bartenders unemployed and regulars homeless. Here is a montage of footage and stills I shot in the bar over the last 20 years, embellished with extra pix from bartender friends. R.I.P. to an institution
