RESPECT – Honor or regard shown to someone or something that is important. Respect is a big deal. Tina Turner sang about it. Military leaders command it. Our elders deserve it. God is worthy of it. Respect IS a big deal. It is also at an all-time low. Just ask ANYONE in the education system. They will tell you stories that are unbelievable and, unfortunately, true about how disrespectful students are to them and each other. And when they try to talk to many parents about the situation,…. Well, I’m not going to go there. But it’s not good. The problem with tolerating disrespect is that it only breeds more disrespect. Until someone is forced to show why it’s wrong to act that way.

God does that from time to time. Yes, He is gracious. Yes, He love. Yes, He is patient. He is also just. And He won’t be disregarded or disrespected forever. Tonight’s lesson looks at this topic through the lens of a rather odd event in the life of Elisha. Let’s take a closer look. Thanks for tuning in!
